Terminus: A Versatile Simulator for Space-based Telescopes

Space-based telescopes offer unparalleled opportunities for characterising exoplanets, Solar System bodies and stellar objects. However, observatories in low Earth orbits (e.g. Hubble, CHEOPS, Twinkle an ever increasing number of cubesats) cannot always be continuously pointed at a target due to obscuration. For exoplanet observations consisting transit, or eclipse, spectroscopy this causes gaps the light curve, which reduces information content can diminish science return observation. Terminus, time-domain simulator, has been developed model occurrence these predict potential impact on future observations. The simulator is capable radiometrically modelling as well producing curves spectra. Here, Terminus baselined mission but adapted any space-based telescope especially applicable those low-Earth orbit. also capability other targets such asteroids brown dwarfs.
